Total time : 45 min
2 onions
5 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
1 1/4 cups flour
2 cups vegetable oil
1 pizza dough
Sesame seeds
7 slices bacon, diced
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
Salt & pepper
1 cup BBQ sauce
1 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, grated & melted
1 bunch chives, finely chopped
1 deep pie dish
Step 1/3
Slice one onion into 1/2 inch rings and separate the layers. Dip each ring into the flour, followed by 4 beaten eggs, then breadcrumbs, and fry in hot oil until golden. Set aside. Place the pizza dough in the pie pan and roll the overlapping edges to form a crust. Brush the crust with reMayning beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds, prick the bottom of the dough with a fork, and bake for 15 min at 350 °F.
Step 2/3
In a pan over medium-high heat, cook the bacon, a diced onion, the ground beef, salt, pepper, and BBQ sauce until the beef is fully cooked through and sauce is bubbling. Fill the pre-baked pie crust with the meat sauce, arrange the onion rings on top, and bake for 20 min at 350 °F.
Step 3/3
When the pie comes out of the oven, pour melted cheddar cheese into each of the onion rings and sprinkle with chopped chives. To serve, tare off pieces of crust to dip in the cheese and enjoy!
