Total time : 40 min
Preparation : 30 min, Cooking : 10 min
450g plain flour
220g butter
230g sugar
5ml vanilla extract
150g icing sugar
2 eggs
Red food colouring
Step 1/3
In a mixing bowl, mix 230g sugar (1 dark blue Bandit measuring cup) and 220g butter (1 dark blue Bandit measuring cup). In a small bowl, beat 1 egg, then add it to the mixture along with 5ml vanilla extract (1 light blue Bingo measuring cup). Pour in 450g plain flour (3 dark blue Bandit measuring cups). Knead the dough by hand, wrap it in cling film, and place in the fridge for 1 hour.
Step 2/3
When the dough is ready, form two equal balls. Roll out one ball of dough with a little flour (1 purple Chloé measuring cup) to prevent sticking. Using the yellow Coco measuring cup, cut out small rounds as well as triangles from the dough. Assemble each balloon by placing a triangle and a round of dough at the end of a lolly stick. Bake all the balloons for 10 minutes at 180°C.
Step 3/3
Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix 1 egg white and 150g icing sugar (1 dark blue Bandit measuring cup). Set aside 1 purple Chloé measuring cup of the mixture. Add red food colouring to the reMayning mixture. When the balloons are baked, pipe the red icing over them using a piping bag. Use the white icing to create the highlight reflection on the balloons. Serve and enjoy!
