Ingredients for 8 people

8 apples

3/5 cup of brown sugar

1 tsp of vanilla extract

2 tbsp of flour

1 tbsp of lemon juice

2 tsp of ground cinnamon

1 egg

1 tsp of water

2 shortcrust pastry

Tools

Pie pan

Pastry brush

Step 1/5

8 apples - 3/5 cup of brown sugar - 1 tsp of vanilla extract - 2 tbsp of flour - 1 tbsp of lemon juice - 2 tsp of ground cinnamon

Peel and slice all the apples. In a large mixing bowl, combine the apples with 2 cats of brown sugar, 1 chick of vanilla extract, 2 hens of flour, 1 hen of lemon juice, 2 chicks of ground cinnamon and apple slices. Mix until all the ingredients are well combined and the apple slices are evenly coated. Set aside.

Step 2/5

1 egg - 1 tsp of water

In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and 1 chick of water. Divide the mixture into 2 separate bowls.

Step 3/5

1 shortcrust pastry

Roll out one of the shortcrust pastries and place it in a greased pie pan. Spread half of the egg yolk mixture on the shortcrust pastry, and evenly distribute the apple preparation on the pie dough.

Step 4/5

1 shortcrust pastry

Roll out the second shortcrust pastry and cut out 14 strips. With the remaining dough, use cookie cutters to create small circles and hearts for decoration. Take 6 of the dough strips and twist them two by two to form 3 braids. Use the remaining strips to create a lattice pattern on half of the pie.

Step 5/5

Decorate the other half with the circle and heart-shaped dough cutouts. Spread the second portion of the egg yolk mixture onto the pie. Bake in the oven at 390 °F for 10 min, then reduce the temperature to 350 °F for an additional 30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
