"Streusel, or a crumbly topping made of fat, flour, and sugar, is a German classic perfect for adorning cakes and sweet breads."

Ingredients for 6 people
3.25 cups Flour
0.75 cup Butter
0.65 cup Skim Milk
0.5 cup Sugar
2 tsp Fresh Baker's Yeast
1 pincée Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
Step 1/5Crumble the yeast into a bowl. Pour in the warm milk and set aside for about 10 minutes to activate the yeast.
Step 2/5Add the warm milk to a bowl with 2 ⅓ cups flour, salt, and 2 tbsp sugar. Mix and add a ½ cup melted butter and the egg. Knead and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm place, covered with a clean cloth.
Step 3/5Roll out the dough in a pie pan to a thickness of 2 to 3 cm and let rest for another 30 minutes.
Step 4/5Prepare the streusel filling: with your hands, crumble the remaining softened butter, add the remaining flour, the remaining sugar, and the cinnamon and knead to obtain a crumbly dough. Spread the streusel over the dough and bake for 30 minutes at 350 °F.
Step 5/5Let cool before removing from the pan, then sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy.
