Hedgehog Cake

Cakes just got cuter :)

Total time: 75 minutes

Prep time: 45 minutes, Cook time: 30 minutes

Ingredients for 8 people

8 eggs

1 1/4 cups sugar

2 cups flour

2 cups mascarpone

4 cups heavy cream

8 tbsp cocoa powder

2 packages Pocky ®

2 gummy eggs

1 tbsp dark chocolate, melted

1 black gumdrop

1 1/4 tsp baking powder


1 electric hand mixer

1 springform pan

Step 1/4

Beat the eggs with the sugar for at least 15 minutes. Fold in the flour and baking powder, then pour the mixture into the pan. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 °F. Whip the mascarpone, heavy cream, and cocoa powder.

Step 2/4

When the cake comes out of the oven, split in half, line the inside with chocolate whipped cream, and close again.

Step 3/4

Cut 1/5 of the cake from the right and left. Trim one end of the middle part into a triangle. Place the right and left sides on the center part, with the round side facing upwards. Ice the whole cake with chocolate whipped cream, making a thinner layer on the triangular part and a rounded layer on the other side.

Step 4/4

Make grooves in the rounded part and plant pieces of Pocky ® in it to make the quills of the hedgehog. Place the gummy eggs upside down on the triangular part to make the eyes. Draw the pupils, eyebrows, and mouth with melted chocolate. Put the gumdrop on the tip to make the nose. Enjoy without pricking yourself!
